Hello ASHRAE Saskatoon!

I would like to start off by thanking those who have contributed to ASHRAE research so far in this 2011-2012 year.

Peak Mechanical
Key West Engineering Ltd
Daniels Wingerak Engineering Ltd.

Blake Erb
Chris Watt
Dennis Zbaraschuk
Jeff Frie
Jonathan Bushman
Mike Nemeth
Ryan MacGillivray

So far, $2,190 has been raised for ASHRAE research.  Our goal is $9,500, so we are about 21.3% of the way there.

We have new companies donating to ASHRAE Research and our Research Promotion campaign is officially underway, thanks to Jesse Friggstad, Kirk Nagus, and Ryan MacGillivray.  Yay!  These three volunteers have agreed to help me contact people to promote ASHRAE Research, but don't be surprised if you get a phone call or an email from one of us inviting you to donate.  ASHRAE Research furthers our knowledge of HVAC, makes buildings more energy efficient, and helps us use our resources better.  ASHRAE recently got a new logo and a new motto: "Shaping Tomorrow's Built Environment Today", so this will be showing up in the donation letters we send out.  Remember that all the ASHRAE research money raised in Canada stays in Canada and the U of S has done well at getting its share of research funding.

I would like to welcome all students and non-members.  Last month, I had found the marbles from the ancient ASHRAE marble game and learned the honourable and half-forgotten rules.  Unfortunately, I was told that I should have started it back in September, so we will likely have a 50/50 draw instead to raise funds for ASHRAE Research.  Students and non-members are welcome to participate.

ASHRAE Saskatoon is having elections for the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.  Please come, volunteer, and vote!

If you want to know more about ASHRAE Research, then please contact me.  Remember that research money raised in Canada stays in Canada.
