Hello everyone,

ASHRAE Saskatoon's October meeting is a big meeting, so do not miss it.  Not only is it Research Promotion Night, where those who have donated to ASHRAE research will be honoured, but it looks like we will have a number of VIPs coming.  The list will likely include Dennis Knight, ASHRAE Society Research Promotion Chair, and Ray Sieber, our Regional Vice-Chair of Research Promotion.

ASHRAE research is important to improving our knowledge of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration.  We are striving towards the goal of net-zero buildings, having buildings use so little energy that over the course of a year, the building will make as much energy as it consumes.  There are all sorts of things to research that can each reduce the energy load or use nature's resources to do work for free.  New innovations build on past achievements.  We are invited to support ASHRAE research to do our part in helping with ASHRAE's sustainability goals.  ASHRAE research hits close to home in another way, in that some of ASHRAE's research is doing done right here in Saskatoon.  The University of Saskatchewan is a part of this and we can be proud of our city's role in ASHRAE research and improving HVAC&R knowledge.  Please consider donating to ASHRAE Research.
