Job opportunities, Leadership Development, Training, Certification, Professional development, Personal development, Prospective employees, Social gatherings, Networking, Research opportunities, Fundraising, Handbook, Journals, Access to the latest and best technical information, Travel, Conferences – All are benefits of being an ASHRAE member.  Why did you join?  Do you know anyone else looking for any of these benefits, or generally interested in ASHRAE.  Let me know, and we can share your reasons, and sign up the new members.

I would like to welcome the following people who have joined ASHRAE as new members:  Christine Rogers (Cypress Sales), Chris Richards (City of Saskatoon), Ronn Lepage (VerECO Homes), Matt Rohachuck (Nu-Trend Industries), and Trevor Bemis (Victaulic).  If you know these members, please invite them to come out to our meetings, and introduce them to everyone else.  If you meet them, make them feel welcome at our meetings.

Thanks to everyone who attended the April meeting.  Those in attendance were:  Jesse Friggstad, Bernie Kaminski, Gerry Esau, Jack Scott, Kirk Campbell, Luke Robson, Greg Scrivener, Kyle Mayres, Mike Nemeth, Jeff Frie, Rod Fehr, Christine Rogers, Blake Erb, Jonathan Bushmann, Reg Hofmann, Ryan MacGillivray.

Please ensure your ASHRAE contact information is correction the ASHRE website.  We will be doing another roster in the fall.  If you haven’t already, you can contact me to get your 2010-2011 roster.  This includes the business contact information for all of the ASHRAE members assigned to Saskatoon.

We also have a few people who are delinquent in paying their membership.  I will be contacting these members to give a friendly reminder to renew.  If you have received a membership renewal notice in the last few months, please check if you have paid.  If you are planning on not renewing, please let me know the reason.

We are contemplating added a Facebook account for ASHRAE Saskatoon news and events.  Let us know if you would be interested in signing up.

ASHRAE and NEBB (National Environmental Balancing Bureau) are considering a consolidation to create a separate organization under the ASHRAE umbrella that would encompass all activities that provide the end performance desired by the industry, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, operation and ongoing performance verification.  If you have any input on this issue, please let me know.

The role of Membership Promotion is to ensure you are getting your money’s worth of your membership in ASHRAE.  ASHRAE is here because of you, and we are here for you.  The running theme of this article is that I would like to hear from you!  If there is anything with which you would like some help, or member benefits you would like to see, please let me know.

Hope to hear from you!  Thank you, and have a good summer!
