Hello everyone,

As History chair, I like to look through our history and mention a few tidbits.  The Saskatoon chapter of ASHRAE was chartered on March 25, 1966.  That very day, we hosted the John Ross Curling Tournment with Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Edmonton participating.  (Regina won.)

Since it is December, it is time for our Past Presidents' Night Social.  The first mention of a December social that I have found is the 1969 Christmas social evening, though the previous "year" wrapped up with a banquet and dance on May 30, 1969 (and there may have been December socials that were not mentioned in our history binder).  The Christmas social on December 21, 1971, had 50 people in attendance, so maybe we will approach that number this year.  On December 6, 1973, and on other December social occasions following, ASHRAE Saskatoon had their Christmas social together with the Mechanical Contractors.

I hope everyone has a good Christmas, a good break, and a happy new year.
