Grassroots Government Advocacy 2016 - 2017 ASHRAE Saskatoon Grassroots Government Advocacy Chair - Ryan MacGillivray
The role of the GGAC is to help with local advocacy efforts to promote ASHRAE to the government, including the adoption of ASHRAE standards. Hopefully you are aware that we had a civic election recently. Part of my goal is to be in touch with the city councillors to promote ASHRAE. Let me know if you know any of the officials.
On a national level, ASHRAE Montreal and
ASHRAE Quebec are in the process of translating the ASHRAE BEQ into French. This should help with getting BEQ more recognized across Canada. For Energy Efficiency, AHSRAE Standard 90.1-2016 was
recently published.
The 2015 National Construction Codes are now open for public review. This is your chance to make comments on the proposed revisions for the next round of codes. Current public review is for the National Plumbing Code, and the National Energy Code. http://www.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/ci-ic/article/v20n2-1
Thank you. If you have any questions on the above, please let me know. I hope to see you at the meeting.
