Next week we have our February ASHRAE meeting. Our topic will be Vibration Isolation which will be presented by Ron Giessman. Ron is a Senior Engineer with Vibro-Acoustics. He is the Responsible Engineer for vibration control and restraint systems within the company he works for. He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Earthquake Engineering.

Our evening is located at the Ramada in Saskatoon and will follow our usual schedule:

5:30 p.m.: Cocktails

6:00 p.m.: Dinner

6:45 p.m.: General Meeting

7:00 p.m.: Presentation

We will also be doing another Wine Survivor this meeting in support of ASHRAE research promotion. The rules are below. As always, participation is encouraged but not mandatory.

1.   Each individual entrant will pay a fee of $20 cash plus contribute a bottle of winewith an approximate value of $13-20.

2.   The wine must be bottled and sealed commercially (not homemade).

3.   As in the TV Show Survivor, participants are expelled until only the winner remains.Expulsion draws will start with the first 5 names or ¼ of entrants before the regular meeting begins. After the regular meeting but before the presentation, names will be drawn until 5 remain. The final 4 names will be drawn after the presentation, leaving only the winner remaining. The winner will receive all of the wine.

4.    There will be an opportunity to buy an extra entry or immunity for another $20 up until the halfway point, or 10 names are drawn, whichever comes first.

5.    Alliances and agreements between remaining players are allowed and encouraged. This is for fun and all money raised will be donated to Research Promotion
