Full Course in Passive House Design & Construction Saskatoon (March 13-15 and 27-29, 2014) Take your knowledge of energy efficiency to the next level. This 6 day course on Passive House Design & Construction will teach you techniques in superinsulation, building air tightness, and passive solar from a building science perspective. You will learn how to use energy modelling software to justify your design choices through an understanding of energy and economic impacts to build cost-effective net-zero ready buildings. The course is aimed at Canadian building and design professionals, architects, engineers, builders, contractors, advanced students and others who are motivated to learn. The course starts with the fundamentals, using single family houses to explain the principles. The Passive House methodology will also be applied to large residential, commercial and institutional buildings. The goal of the course is to enable you to design or build your first Passive House and to help prepare you for the International Passive House Exam. This course is eligible for 36 SAA core LUs. The course is also eligible for 36 core LUs at AIBC and 18 LUs at AAA. Full registration for this course costs $1,550 +tax, which includes all training materials, lunches each day plus coffee and snacks.
