CaGBC SK Offering Green Building Courses

posted Dec 15, 2011 11:32 AM by ASHRAE Saskatoon

The Canada Green Building Council has developed education courses on a wide variety of topics to support your development as a green professional.

Register today for one one of the following programs offered in Saskatchewan.

Green Economics: Financially Successful Green Buildings
When: December 12, 2011
Where: Business Furnishings
1121 Osler Street, Regina, SK

This one-day workshop is a detailed examination of how to build financially viable deep green buildings. It describes how to build a business case for building green as well as manage green building cost premiums. For a full description of the course and details on how to register click here.

This workshop, like all CaGBC educational programs, meets eligibility requirements for the Green Associate exam. Level 200. 6.5 GBCI CE credits.

An Intro to Effective Commissioning of Existing Buildings
When: January 25, 2012, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Innovation Place, Candle Room in the Atrium Building
111 Research Drive, Saskatoon, Saskatoon

Like death and taxes, when it comes to buildings, change is the only certainty: systems age, tenants come and go, and new technologies create opportunities and risks. The typical result of this change is decline. But you can do more than accept the inevitable. You can embrace and benefit from change through re-commissioning.

This course is targeted at building managers and operators, preparing them to get the most out of re-commissioning their buildings. It uses case studies and interactive workshops to communicate a firm understanding of the re-commissioning process, providing practical knowledge that prepares you for your first (or next) commissioning cycle.

You will learn how to: define your scope; incorporate LEED credit requirements; select the right service provider; evaluate the quality of service provided and avoid common pitfalls.

4 GBCI CE credits
